Summer is among us and we are so excited! Summertime is a popular time for weddings, with that being said what are you in store for when attending a wedding this summer?
Bold bright colors will be showcased with flowers, attire and decor. Decor is really important for a wedding, it brings together the whole event. Usually we use a lot of floral for our decor.
This rustic barn wedding used bright florals to liven up the venue. The suspended floral arrangements is something new I have seen. I love it! You can see that they used smaller centerpieces on the table.
Below are some beautiful vibrant color pallets for the summer. (These colors make me want to plan a summer wedding!)
Once you have your venue and date picked out, I think it is very important to pick a color palette. The color palette will get incorporated into invitations, bridal party attire, florals and linens.
Having a theme to your wedding has been more and more popular. The “Rustic Chic” wedding theme has been around for a few years and is still going strong. This theme has evolved each year with new attributes that make it a little bit different year after year. After Pantone released their 2017 color of the year “Greenery” , adding a touch of green has been a must. Brides are opting for more greenery in decor as well as in their flowers.
At last we come to my favorite! Everyone has been loving printed table cloths. Prints are very personal and it shows a lot about the happy couple. Printed table linens can be seen being used at an outdoor wedding as well as indoor wedding. Printed florals, geometric shapes, and stripes are very versatile and mesh well with other accents and decor.
I hope this post brings you inspiration for the special day you are planning. Another tip I have for you is even if you are not planning a wedding these trends can easily be incorporated into home decor trends.
When we think of summer decor, usually the first thing that comes to mind is coastal or nautical motifs. Throw in the occasional marine animal print and you have “summer”. This year though, the decor trends have changed slightly. One of the hottest summer decor trends this year is something you have probably seen a million times before and paid it no mind – a cabana stripe. Yup, that’s it. A simple stripe.
Throw pillows, table cloths, placemats, beach towels, tote bags, umbrellas, & so much more. This classic stripe is EVERYWHERE. It’s simple, classic, & timeless. The cabana stripe can be in any color, but most common tends to be a nice black and white or a royal blue and white combo. The stripe can be small or large and it most commonly runs vertically. These stripes can be seen in almost every store you walk into – H & M, Home Goods, Pottery Barn, Target, Walmart, Pier 1, Kohl’s, the list goes on and on and on. It is also featured in more magazines than I can count on my 2 hands. Have you seen the latest issue of HGTV magazine?
I am a lover of stripes in general, but I absolutely love a good cabana stripe. It works year round, not just in the summer, and it can really bring life to a room. I prefer black and white everything, but this year we decided to branch out a bit at Fabric Textile Products, Inc. and offer a very wide variety of cabana stripe linens. Our 3 inch cabana stripe is printed on Milliken Signature Polyester and then in turn made into pillow covers, tablecloths, & table runners. We currently offer 12 colors and are always adding more to the mix!
Available in Black, Navy, Royal, Pale Pink, Fuchsia, Red, Gray, Yellow, Khaki, Orange, Turquoise, & Lime Green.
Below I have included some of the fabulous cabana stripe products I have while shopping the internet! Check them out!

Summer has officially begun! Enjoy that warm weather, sleep in, and check back here with me on the FTP blog! I have lots more great stuff to share with all of you!
Hello friends! It has been a while since I wrote to you all, but have no fear. I am back! We have made so many changes around the shop here at Fabric Textile Products, Inc. and things are better than ever. We have started introducing new test products and so far our customers are pleased. We love when you guys are happy! Every week I will do my best to update you all on new products and prints we have added to the shop. For now, I just wanted to take a time to highlight one of my absolute favorite items – our American Stars Napkins! This is now the second year that we have offered these patriotic napkins and we cannot keep them on the shelves. I’m serious, ya’ll. These napkins are the real deal!
With Memorial Day and July 4th right around the corner, these napkins are perfect for cookouts, parties, and BBQs with the family. They launder well and will last you for many years to come. The navy and white star design resembles that of our gorgeous nation’s flag. I personally like pairing them with a red and white picnic check tablecloth for a real down home Americana vibe! This year we have also introduced the matching table runner! Those will be available in the shop very soon!
Seriously though. How adorable are these little guys?!
I look forward to talking to all of you again soon! As always, thank you for keeping up with my blog! Be sure to check back soon for my next post AND of course, I welcome you to check out the new and improved Fabric Textile Products, Inc. website! 🙂
July 4th weekend is almost here! BBQ’s, fireworks, beach trips, & family fun have become staples of this American tradition. 4th of July has always been one of my favorite holidays since I was a little kid. My family (large Italian-American family to be exact) would have a huge BBQ at our house every year. I was on decorating duty of course and would cover the backyard in red, white, & blue streamers. Mom would make every kind of salad known to man. Dad would grill every kind of meat the butcher could supply. My brother and I would go swimming in the pool for hours and then eat tons of ice cream until we couldn’t stomach anymore. (Yeah, Mom really “loved” that part.) At the end of the night, we would always watch the local fireworks display and go back to our house and make smores. If we were lucky, we would get to play with little sparklers too!
Our family tradition has changed since we are all getting older, but I still really enjoy the holiday. This year I have the opportunity to spend the holiday weekend in our nation’s capital, beautiful Washington, D.C. and I could not be any more thrilled! D.C. has become one of my favorite travel destinations and what better time to go than to celebrate our freedom and independence? It is going to be amazing. I will certainly do a follow up blog about my trip! I am looking forward to the parade and fireworks display. I’m sure the view from my hotel in Capitol Hill will be amazing!
To get in the patriotic spirit, I just wanted to share some pictures from my previous trips to D.C. with all of you. If you have not been there yet, I HIGHLY recommend taking a trip there with friends or family. The monuments are beautiful. The museums are excellent. The local food is delicious. The National Zoo has pandas! You don’t come across them very often! Most importantly, it is our beautiful country’s capital. It is a diverse city rich with culture and history.
I hope you enjoy celebrating 4th of July with your families! I will share photos from my trip with you in a few weeks!

I am a born and raised Jersey girl. I was born in Belleville and I currently reside in Bloomfield, just off the Garden State Parkway at Exit 151. New Jersey is a small state with a larger than life personality. Our state is the home to many famous musicians (Bruce Springstein and Bon Jovi just to name a few). You can find a good 24 hour diner in every neighborhood. We still have gas stations where attendants pump our gas for us. Don’t even get me started on the taylor ham and cheese sandwiches! I can talk for hours about how much I love New Jersey, but the greatest part about living here is our beautiful Jersey shore. Down the coast from Sandy Hook to Cape May, you will find roughly 130 miles worth of gorgeous beaches and fun for the family.
For as long as I can remember, my family has spent summer vacation at the shore. Growing up, my family had a small condo in Wildwood Crest and we would spend most of the summer season there. Even now at 23 years old, I would take a vacation to the Wildwoods (the name refers to Diamond Beach, Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, West Wildwood, & North Wildwood) over a trip anywhere else. It is my favorite shore point and has become somewhat of a second home to me.
This past weekend was the first of 3 trips I have planned there for this summer. For those of you not familiar with the island I thought it would be fun to share a little bit of the Jersey shore with you! (Believe me, what you may have seen on MTV’s Jersey Shore TV show is NOT representative of this beautiful place I call my home.)
The Wildwoods has a long-time attachment to the Doo Wop era which can be seen throughout every community. The resort area was built in the 1950s and is reflected in the architecture of the motels, restaurants, and landmarks. Funky colors, brightly lit neon signs, edgy designs, and retro decor is everywhere. Although most of the old motels and businesses have been since closed or turned into new developments, some of the original buildings still stand and function today. The Jolly Roger motel was built in 1960. The hotel has undergone renovations and new ownership, but still stays true to the Doo Wop roots. Just a block from the beach and a short drive from the boardwalk, this motel is the top choice of mine and my family. We love staying here and plan to do so for many years to come! (To learn more about the rich history and Doo Wop culture of the Wildwoods, be sure to check out the Doo Wop Experience Museum.)
No vacation at the shore would be complete without a trip to the boardwalk. Maybe I’m biased, but I personally consider the Wildwoods boardwalk to be the best at the shore. The boardwalk is 38 blocks full of shops, rides, games, arcades, places to eat, and fun for people of all ages. Did I mention there’s a water park too? It’s amazing! You cannot possibly tackle it all in just a day. Each pier has its own identity and it makes the boardwalk so unique. The lights on the ferris wheel can be seen from miles away at night. There’s a free fireworks display every weekend too! Hop on the Tram Car and take a ride down the boards. Grab an ice cream cone from Kohr Bros. and a bucket of fries from Curley’s! Gateway 26 Arcade has games to keep the kids busy for hours and plenty of prizes to choose from too! Don’t forget to stop at the Boardwalk Mall to pick up souvenirs for friends and loved ones at home!
After a great weekend away, it was time to head back home to Bloomfield on Sunday evening. I’m so glad that the storm decided to wait until we got halfway home to begin! With temps in the 70s all weekend, it made for a pleasant trip away from home for a few days. After a 3 hour drive, I was back at home and ready to start the work week and already preparing for our next vacation!
I could literally write a book about all the amazing things that can be found in The Wildwoods. I have 23 years worth of memories. Every summer there is something new. New attractions, restaurants, motels, condos, shops, and so much more. I look forward to visiting again in July with my family. I will be sure to do a follow-up blog to this one as well. The jersey shore is definitely worth visiting if you have the opportunity to do so. A trip to any shore point will be worth it! My family has formed its own traditions in the Wildwoods and I hope your family can do the same!
For more information about the island, be sure to visit the Wildwoods NJ website. You can also request a free vacation planning guide! I’d love to hear all about your experiences!
Fun fact: In 1963, singer Bobby Rydell released the hit “Wildwood Days” and it has become to anthem of the island! Take a listen!
Wishing you and your family a wonderful summer season!

Memorial Day weekend is here and the unofficial start to the summer season has begun! This weekend will be filled with trips to the beach, concerts, BBQ’s, holiday shopping sales, and plenty of fun in the sun. Being from New Jersey, my summer season means several trips down the parkway to the beautiful Jersey Shore. (No, you will not find me “fist pumping” with DJ Pauly D or anything that MTV has led you to believe.) Each shore town has its own identity and is full of beautiful little independent shops. My favorite thing to do while at the shore is to shop for new coastal-inspired items to take home with me and decorate my bedroom with. I am a lover of all things summer. Anchors. Mermaids. Sea shells. Boats. Tropical flowers. Bright colors. I am a fan of it all!
I have compiled a list of my top coastal finds to help get your home summer-ready! There’s something to fit every budget and every interest! It will feel like summer all year round!
I hope you all get to enjoy this holiday weekend with family and friends. My family BBQ is already planned for Sunday! Summer 2015 is almost here! And please, don’t forget your sunblock! Stay safe everyone! 🙂
Warm Regards Always,
