Wedding season in is full swing and we are heading into the most popular months. There are many details that go into planning a wedding, and let me tell you not a detail goes unnoticed. An easy detail that can go a long way is how you can fold a napkin. There are a million ways to fold a napkin and each of them are beautiful. I have picked out a few of my favorite napkin folds that I am going to show you how to make.
1. The Bow Napkin Fold
You will need napkin rings for this one.
Start with a square napkin.
Fold the top part down to the middle, then flip the bottom up to the middle.
Fold the left side to the middle, then fold the right side to the middle.
Flip the napkin over.
Pinch in the middle then use the napkin ring you chose.
2. The single Pocket Fold
Place napkin hemmed side down.
Fold napkin in half.
Fold top layer down.
Flip the napkin over.
Fold it in half from right to left.
Fold in half again from right to left.
You can leave it as is or you can add string or ribbon like that image above. This one is perfect if you are having menus put at each seat.
3. The Dramatic Fan
Start with your square napkin face down.
Starting from the bottom make accordion pleats all the way to the top.
From one end, start rolling the napkin, leaving a little bit at the end about 2/3”
Set the napkin upright, gently fan out the small section that was not folded.
Holding on the spiraled section, pull up the beginning edge to form a small peak.
There are many more ways to fold a napkin if the ones above are not what you are looking for. You can’t go wrong with any napkin fold to upgrade your table for your next event. As I mentioned before not a detail goes unnoticed and something like a napkin fold can be what your table was missing. Guests will love the tiny detail. You can use different napkin folds for your home too. Whether it is for a holiday or just a family gathering you can elevate your table with a certain napkin fold. (There are some great ones for the holidays!)
Nothing says summer like 4th of July.. and nothing says fourth of July like a barbecue. 4th of July parties are my favorite. I love the decorations, and especially the food! There are plenty of ways to add red white and blue to your bbq. If you don’t have a lot of time picking one or two of the following ideas will give your party the perfect Americana feel.
Red white and Blue Mason Jars:
What you will need:
3 Mason Jars
Red, White and Blue Paint
Red, white and blue plastic silverware
These red white and blue mason jars are just the cutest. You can use them as decor inside your home or use them for your bbq by storing your plastic utensils. You can reuse them too! Store them away until next year. I love a good project that lets me use what I made over and over.
Decorating your food table is super fun! Hots dogs and burgers are the staple of any summer bbq. Set up a table just for them and all the fixin’s ! It is bound to be a hit. The below image is a perfect example. Set your table up with room for your tray of hot dogs and hamburgers. Line up all your fixin’s around them. Don’t forget to label them. If you have room this is the perfect spot to put your mason jar silverware holders. If not place them and your plates on a different table near by.
You can add a gingham check table cloth or go more patriotic with one of our very own patriotic tablecloths! Check them out at Fabric Textile Products
I hope everyone enjoys the Fourth of July with their family and friends!
Summer is among us and we are so excited! Summertime is a popular time for weddings, with that being said what are you in store for when attending a wedding this summer?
Bold bright colors will be showcased with flowers, attire and decor. Decor is really important for a wedding, it brings together the whole event. Usually we use a lot of floral for our decor.
This rustic barn wedding used bright florals to liven up the venue. The suspended floral arrangements is something new I have seen. I love it! You can see that they used smaller centerpieces on the table.
Below are some beautiful vibrant color pallets for the summer. (These colors make me want to plan a summer wedding!)
Once you have your venue and date picked out, I think it is very important to pick a color palette. The color palette will get incorporated into invitations, bridal party attire, florals and linens.
Having a theme to your wedding has been more and more popular. The “Rustic Chic” wedding theme has been around for a few years and is still going strong. This theme has evolved each year with new attributes that make it a little bit different year after year. After Pantone released their 2017 color of the year “Greenery” , adding a touch of green has been a must. Brides are opting for more greenery in decor as well as in their flowers.
At last we come to my favorite! Everyone has been loving printed table cloths. Prints are very personal and it shows a lot about the happy couple. Printed table linens can be seen being used at an outdoor wedding as well as indoor wedding. Printed florals, geometric shapes, and stripes are very versatile and mesh well with other accents and decor.
I hope this post brings you inspiration for the special day you are planning. Another tip I have for you is even if you are not planning a wedding these trends can easily be incorporated into home decor trends.
The warm weather is here to stay! When the seasons change, so does the trends. This summer is going to be all about pineapples. Yes you heard me, Pineapples! You will see it from clothing to home decor.

Hosting a brunch for Mother’s Day? I have got some ideas for you! If the weather is going to be nice, plan to have your bunch outdoors. I have some great inspiration photos to help you set the perfect outdoor table. You don’t have to use throw away items just because you are outdoors. A simple tale runner or table cloth can be a great add to your outdoor dining table.
Stripes are in right now and those colors are a perfect match for a Mother’s Day celebration. This table setting is very simple. Look at those centerpieces!
Prints and colors set a BOLD table. These bright colors are perfect for an outdoor brunch.
Simple is the perfect way to go. The runner is the vocal point on this table. I love the way they tied off the ends. A few candle jars make for a pretty centerpiece option.
As of lately the question has been on my mind as to why people choose Amazon over small business websites. If both sites are carrying the same item what makes Amazon the better choice?
Pricing? Are these items being sold at the same price? Most of the time I see smaller business sites are pricing lower than Amazon to try to compete for customers. ( we do the same on our site)
Shipping? For prime members on Amazon I understand the free 2day shipping. It is a great option. But is that why people would want to buy a product from Amazon rather than the same item that is priced less on a different website?
Customer Service? Is it easy to get helpful answers from Amazon? What makes their service better than other sites? Most small business websites have multiple ways for a customer to get in contact with them.
As these thought run through my head I also wonder what other small business websites think as well as customers out there. Is Amazon just the BEST? Can small websites compete with Amazon? We have started to sell some of our items on amazon as well and we see that selling on Amazon has brought us new customers who may not have seen us if we weren’t on Amazon. Then at the same time we sometimes see traffic/ customer chats on our website asking for information/ searching around then only for these customers not to buy from us but to go back and purchase on Amazon.
It does not help that similar products are being offered on amazon at an insanely lower price. These come from vendors overseas who are selling these items at such a low cost it is hard to compete. We try to lower our prices as much as we can to the point that we are taking a loss and losing money to these sellers. We offer a great quality product and we see that price is always a main factor. Does the customer not care about quality anymore?
We just want a better understanding to why customers choose Amazon over us. How can we get the amazon shoppers to shop our website as well?
To my other business owners who are reading this I would love to know if these thoughts have ever crossed your mind. Are we the only ones thinking this? What can we take away from this, and how can we better improve our sites. At the end of the day we want our customers to be happy with our product and services we provide them with in hopes they will become loyal customers. We want to be given chance. We have a great team ready for when a customer has any questions. Our customer live chat is always available during our working hours. You can always email us or call too! We want to show our customers that they can get a more personal experience with us. We take pride in our products and want to share that with our customers.
I hope you are in the DIY state of mind this weekend, as I have some great projects that will have you ready for spring! The spring weather is not here just yet, so we have more time to spend on indoor projects. I came across a few projects that I think everyone will love. They are a simple way to had touches of spring in your home.
I love this simple canvas art you can hang it up or just have it stand/ lean on its own. If you are not big into decoration for holidays this is the perfect project. It is an easy project and will not take up a lot of space. This would look great on my small fireplace mantle in my living room!
I love this one. What is even better is, these make perfect host gifts! This is so simple and if you want to go with a more spring approach you don’t have to make the bunny. Pick any color or colors you want and you can create your own design for this vase.
Another great idea, and this one can be done in a flash! I am currently looking for an umbrella now. This DIY wreath screams spring! I love everything about this, the best part is when you are done using it… you have an umbrella!
